Registering an Instance
To register an instance with Autonomous Linux, you must enable the agent plugin and specify a registration profile.
Autonomous Linux uses the OS Management Hub Oracle Cloud Agent plugin.
Important
Autonomous Linux requires minimum Oracle Cloud Agent version 1.40. For instances using platform images released before April 2024, upgrade the Oracle Cloud Agent to 1.40 or later.

Before You Begin
Before you register an OCI instance with Autonomous Linux:
- Complete the getting started.
- Identify the profile to use to register the instance. Either create a profile or use a service-provided profile.
New OCI Instance
- Follow the steps to create an instance, until the advanced options.

Enable the OS Management Hub Agent plugin.
- Click Show Advanced Options.
- On the Oracle Cloud Agent tab, select the OS Management Hub Agent.
- Select a profile to register the instance.
- Click Create.
Existing OCI Instance
- Install the Oracle Cloud Agent software, if it's not already installed. Verify the version is 1.40.0 or later.
- Open the navigation menu, click Compute, and then click Instances.
- Click the instance that you want to register.
- Click the Oracle Cloud Agent tab.
- Enable the OS Management Hub Agent.
- Select a profile to use to register the instance.
